HAT DAY Hat Day is almost here! On Tuesday, November 21st you can pay $1 and wear your favorite hat to school. Please choose a hat that is not offensive or disruptive to learning. On Tuesday morning before school, stop by the main lobby and purchase a wristband to show that you have paid to wear your hat that day. CANNED FOOD DRIVE In an effort to focus on being GENEROUS this holiday season, Page is partnering with Gleaners Food Bank to hold a canned food drive. Students can turn their donations in to their PRIDE class. The canned food drive will take place from Monday, November 27th – Friday, December 15th. The PRIDE class with the most items collected will win a pizza party. Please no opened containers, homemade food or expired products, and avoid items in glass as they often break in transit. *Also, no fish or seafood products due to airborne allergy in building. Suggested items: • Canned Fruit (no heavy syrup) • Canned Vegetables • Peanut Butter (in plastic jars) • Healthy Cereal/Oatmeal • Hearty Soups, Stews Canned Spaghetti or Pasta Beans (black, kidney, pinto, or refried) • Canned Meats (chicken) • Pasta, Macaroni and Cheese, Rice Pancake • Baking Mixes • Baby Food or Formula Here are a few facts that were shared with students during PRIDE to explain the importance of this canned food drive... • More than 720,000 people in southeast Michigan live in poverty. • One in six people in Michigan will need emergency food this year. • Child poverty has more than doubled in the past decade; one in four children are now at risk of hunger. ANNUAL CULTURAL FAIR Please join us for our annual Cultural Fair in the Page Auxiliary Gym on Friday, November 10 from 4:00-6:00 PM. Come learn about various countries and ethnic cultures, see a display of student-created landmarks, create a cultural craft, learn another language, and sample food from around the world. This is an exciting event that highlights the diversity at Page. We are hosting the Cultural Fair in the fall instead of the spring this year. We hope to see many Page friends and families there!

BOYS BASKETBALL Attention 7th and 8th grade boys interested in playing Basketball – informational meetings will be held during lunch on Monday, November 6th. There will be open gym on Monday 11/6 from 3:15-5:00. Tryouts will be Wednesday 11/8, Thursday 11/9, and Friday 11/10 from 3:15-5:00. Students must have a valid (dated AFTER April 15th) sports physical in order to tryout. Page Middle School has teamed up with Jersey Mike’s Subs for a fundraiser! November 8th –November 12th Each student and staff member will receive two (2) donation cards on the day that the fundraiser begins. Redeem your donation cards at the store between Wednesday, Nov 8th and Sunday, Nov 12th, you will receive a free sub with a minimum $2 donation. You MUST present the donation card to get the deal!! 100% of all donations will be given back to Page Middle School. So you get to enjoy a delicious sub and support your school! The FREE SUB donation cards must be redeemed in person in the store.The cards cannot be used for someone not physically in the building. In other words, one donation card per person, per visit.
